Grab a bite of local history and check out Red's! As the oldest locally owned bar/restaurant in the area Red's offers first rate vintage ambiance that far surpasses the wanna be store bought vintage interiors that are so common and trendy now.

After taking in the fabulous interior try their amazing wings- although I am a die hard vegetarian my husband swears by their wings and loves the super spicy suicide hot sauce ( not for the faint of heart). Or try a bite of history- the original pie- the first local pizza pie featuring American cheese. I know it sounds strange, but give it a try. Red's has been a family operation since the 1940's and they know what they are doing.

As if that wasn't enough, the family owned business seems to be staffed mainly by family members and it shines through in the individualized attention that customers receive.

I cannot recommend Red's highly enough for their family friendly service and historic atmosphere. Take a step back in time and bite out of history!

Stopped in here for the 2nd night dinner of a two night stay at the microtel right nearby. 1st night we had asked front desk person what's good around here for eats? Pointed us to vestal area, not bad. 2nd night, we trusted ourselves to find a spot. A lot! closer and cheaper, and better!! We love diveish type places, so this must be taken into consideration. We also love places with good food, prices and ambience (big word for me!). This place had it all. I always ask for as many flat wings in my wing appetizer, my hometown bars where I know the cooks won't give me 12 flats without a surcharge, and a fight. These guys did it sight unseen! And they were a perfect hot wing. Wife started w the salad bar, and went up twice more. She loved it! We both had bangin burgers after that, and had wished we came here both nights. Sat at the bar, and the tender could not have been nicer. Absolutely a great spot! Miss it already.

Well, my wife and I stopped in on a Saturday at 5:30 with 2 other adults a toddler and a baby.
Place was as described and expected, with about a dozen tables and as many booths and a bar. Kinda lost in the late 50's, but the floor and tables were clean.  Seemed less than  half full, and a waitress motioned us to a few tables that were pushed together. It went downhill from there.
    1) it took 20 minutes for us to get menus and order drinks.
    2) Drinks came, we ordered,  went to the salad bar ( ok, but just ok). 15 minutes later our tomatoe soup arrived.
    3) After numerous requests and waitress apologies, our food arrived... at 7pm, yes, it took an hour and a half to feed a toddler his chicken strips, 2 burgers ( both overcooked) , an open face steak sandwich (good)  and a terrible excuse for shrimp scampi.
I give 2 stars for the waitress, she was really embarrassed, took the scampi and 2 glasses of house wine off the bill. But really.., we watched table after table get seated and fed, beck some had already left before our dinner came.
For a "family run eatery" it fell flat. No one, other than our waitress offered any explanation.
I doubt I will go back

Came back here again tonight to get more wings and to give their hot pie another try.

I came with a few others who wanted to try the honey bbq wings, but I had to get a side of their tasty Suicide sauce.

Again, the wings did not disappoint. They were cooked well and the honey bbq was ace. What put it over the top for me was dipping the wings in the suicide sauce. Yum! Their suicide sauce can be deceiving.. As it starts out sweet.. But ends with a very powerful kick.

The hot pie grew on me this time around, the cheese is not as heavy as mozz but still offers good taste and texture. As a side note, they make the dough fresh after you order, so be prepared to wait a little bit for your pizza. So grab a beer, chat with your friends / family and wait for the excellent food to come out.

I'm not sure why Reds does not get more love. Everything from their service to the food is top notch - def worth checking out.

I had not stepped foot in Red's for over 15 years, but for some reason a few months back I felt compelled to stop in and have a burger.  The burger is 5 stars all the way - if not the best, at least one of the best in town.

Great food, great prices and a nostalgic visit down memory lane. My visits have already become frequent.
